Forward calls to Cradle during your set-up phase and while you test, or forward busy calls from your Mobile to Cradle.
You've seen the benefits you can get from Cradle and want to start using it right away! Nobody has a month to wait for porting to happen, right?
During this period we recommend using Call Diversion and forwarding your calls straight to Cradle. During the setup process we will give you a local number to forward your calls to.
What should I know?
Forwarding your calls to a local Cradle number will result in a few things that you should be aware of.
- Your callers won't know that they are reaching you through a new system. They will just start being processed through Cradle instead of your current system.
- When you call a customer Cradle will use your current caller ID to call people. This means that if your customers have your number saved in their phone (or their memory) they'll recognise that it's your business calling.
- Your current provider will charge various fees during the period that Call Diversion is set up. These vary from provider to provider, so please check with them prior to setting it up. Typical charges are a fixed fee of around $5 per month, plus a per minute charge for all calls that are forwarded of around $0.05 (5 cents per minute).
- If all that you do is use Call Diversion to test out Cradle during a trial period it is easy to revert back to your old system if you decide that Cradle isn't right for you.
How do I set it up?
Each provider has a different way of setting up Call Diversion or Call Forwarding. We have documented the main ones here. If you're not having much success getting this set up please give us a call or message us on Intercom and we can help you with this.
One key thing to remember is that if you have a PBX on-site and your phones all go through this, you may not be able to set up Call Diversions easily as the PBX may intercept these instructions and prevent them from going down the correct phone line. If this happens, call us.

Mobiles
To forward calls from your mobile to a Cradle number you need to enter a set of codes that include the number to which you'd like to forward calls.
There are generally four types of diversions:
- Divert when you don't answer
- Divert when you're not reachable (i.e. your phone is off or out of service)
- Divert when you're busy (i.e. on another call)
- Divert all calls
The codes below use the placeholder {num} for where you enter your number and the placeholder {tt} for the number of seconds to wait if you don't answer. You will need to replace this with the Cradle number to which you want to forward calls and the time in seconds that you want to wait (in multiples of 5: 05, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30).
Diversion Type | No Answer | Not Reachable | Busy | All Calls |
Check | *#61# | *#62# | *#67# | *#21# |
Set | **61*{num}**{tt}# | **62*{num}# | **67*{num}# | **21*{num}# |
Cancel | #61# | #62# | #67# | #21# |
For example, to forward calls to +6425123456 after 15 seconds, you would open your phone's dialer and type ...
**61*+6425123456**15#
... then press the call button.
Notes:
- Enter the number in international format. If the phone returns an error, enter it in local format. Networks differ for how they want to receive the number.
- We recommend checking your current settings (the first row) and making a note of what they're set to, so if you need to revert to your carriers defaults you can.
- Setting these divert codes will stop your standard voicemail from working.
- Your mobile provider will charge you the standard rate for these calls as if you'd made them off your mobile phone. Forwarding calls to international or local Cradle numbers will incur call charges, for which Cradle will not be responsible.
